Anna is excited to enter into her fourth season coaching with Aspire. Lessons are available for all-skills, but her focus and specialization is in strengthening passing and defense techniques with liberos, defensive specialists, and all-around pin hitters. As a former Aspire alumni turned coach, Anna offers a unique perspective and a lot of enthusiasm towards the game. Anna herself played for Aspire from 2010-2018 on one of the club's most decorated teams in its history, and was the first of her class to commit to play in college. Anna attended Villanova University on athletic scholarship and loves to share her experiences with the next generation of players. In her two seasons assistant coaching (alongside Karen Gray), both teams qualified for nationals, one in the open division (bronze division winners) and the other in the national division (made gold, tied for fifth).

Ashley has played volleyball since age 10, continuing through high school and club volleyball, where she played DS/libero and setter. She went on to play multiple roles at Scottsdale Community College, where her team had a top 10 finish at NJCAA nationals, and then transfered to a D2, Henderson State University, where she was the starting libero. At HSU she earned defensive player of the week in the GSC, and was ranked in the top 10 defensive players in NCAA D2. Following graduation, she played in adult leagues and assisted at SCC until getting further involved in her career. After taking a break to focus on work and start a family, she returned to coaching with the hope of sharing her passion of the game.

Charles has been passionately involved in volleyball since the second grade, growing up to become a professional player at 25. He started his career at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, NV, and went on to have an outstanding collegiate career at Benedictine University in Mesa, AZ. During his time there, Charles made history as the most winning player, with 102 victories over four years, starting in every match. He earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree (MBA) in Finance. Post-college, Charles secured a starting spot on the professional team Phoenix Ascension. Now, entering his third year in the Volleyball League of America (VLA), he plays for the Chandler Team IX, continuing to pursue excellence in the sport he loves. Charles is passionate about sharing his experiences and knowledge of the game with younger generations, aiming to help them grow the sport to new heights.

Grant DeGrasse earned two MVP accolades during the last two seasons of his career at Chatsworth High School in Los Angeles, California. His senior season was a success as he led his team to a City Championship while earning Player of the Year from the CIF committee as an Outside Hitter. He then played two years at LA Pierce Community College where his team won the CCCAA title as a libero. In 2019 he was recruited to Benedictine University at Mesa where he continued to play libero and earned the CalPac Defender of the Year award. In the 2020-2021 season, the BenU team made it to the finals and DeGrasse was awarded First Team All-Conference. Following his playing career he obtained his Masters Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Western New Mexico University where he was a graduate assistant for the Women’s Volleyball team. He now resides in Mesa, AZ where he is the Assistant for the Men’s Volleyball team at BenU under Head Coach Matt August. Being in the sport since he was about 5 years old, DeGrasse has a vast amount of knowledge regarding passing, defense, setting, footwork and hitting.

Hayli grew up in Massachusetts, where she was a four-year member, and two-time captain of the varsity volleyball team at Old Rochester Regional High School. She then played competitive club volleyball at the University of South Carolina. Fun fact, Hayli met her now husband at club volleyball nationals her sophomore year of college! Hayli earned an undergraduate degree in public health and now works for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Innovation Center. Outside of volleyball, Hayli loves to read and spend time with her three-year old pit bull, Pepper. Henry started his coaching career in Albuquerque, NM with the University of New Mexico summer programs. He is going on his second season at Aspire Volleyball Club, and previously coached at Spiral Volleyball from ages ranging from 11-17U. Henry currently runs all of the adult programs at Aspire. He’s overseeing his 5th season with Chandler Gilbert Community College Women's Volleyball Program as an assistant coach and was a previous assistant for South Mountain Community College Men's Volleyball. Prior to college I started volleyball my 16s year at Aspire finishing as the AZ Region Runner-Up, 17s and 18s year finishing as Region Champion. I then played volleyball for 4 years at Arizona State University leading the team to finishing top 9 in the country the past 3 years. I currently play for semi-pro VLA team Sun City IX in my first year. I am passionate about passing down knowledge of the sport to younger generations helping grow the sport and individuals.

ustine attended Mountain Pointe High School from 2009-2012 and played all four years for the girl’s volleyball team. She played outside hitter her first couple of years and then eventually switched to setter position while in high school. Justine played at Aspire during her senior year on the 18-1’s. Justine was offered a full-ride scholarship to Chadron State College in Nebraska Division 2 Program (RMAC). This is where she was named top 3 for aces and assists in the RMAC. Justine still plays competitively today. Justine is currently the Head Varsity coach at Mountain Pointe High School and has been coaching at Aspire for 9 years. She enjoys coaching all age ranges and being around players who love the sport and want to learn. My name is Justiniano Espinoza, though I often go by JP. I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, and graduated from Camelback High School in 2007. With over 18 years of competitive volleyball experience, I have had the privilege of playing at a high level across multiple positions. Currently, I am a Setter for the professional team Los Muertos, affiliated with Phoenix Ascension, part of the prestigious Volleyball League of America. While my current focus is setting, I bring extensive experience as an Outside Hitter, Middle Blocker, and Opposite, showcasing my versatility and dedication to the sport.

Karen Gray joined Aspire in 2008, it's second year in existence. Along with her husband, Jonathan Gray, they began as associate owners of the club and Karen is currently the associate club director and head of volleyball operations. Coach Karen was formally the head Varsity coach at Mountain Pointe High School for nine years, where she had been the varsity head coach for seven years and lead the 2017 team to the State 6A Finals. That same year Gray earned the AZ Central Big School Coach of the Year. (Coach Andrew Yamashiro was assistant coach on that team as well!) Karen began playing volleyball at age 14 and following a successful high school career in Maryland, she earned a full volleyball scholarship to Villanova, a Big East DI program. As a 4 year starter at Villanova, Karen held the all-time kills record that stood for more than ten years and won several all-tournament awards as a middle blocker during her collegiate career. After college, Karen played the middle blocker position for three USAV Open Nationals teams. Karen and her husband have two volleyball playing daughters that have spent their careers at Aspire. Kendall, who played on Aspires first 12's & 13's teams, was a middle hitter for Grand Canyon University. Chapin, her youngest daughter, attended college Gonzaga University on a full volleyball scholarship As an Aspire club coach, Karen has led 12s, 13s, 14s, 15s,16s and 17s teams to top finishes in the AZ Region and at National qualifiers, including several National Qualifier wins. Her teams have qualified for and participated in the USAV GJNC's every year since 2011.

This will be my 4th year coaching at aspire. On the side I coach women’s club volleyball at ASU and coached the team to a first place finish in the SCCVL region and a third place finish at NCVF nationals. While at aspire I have coached multiple age groups from as young as 9 years old up to 16 years old and different levels in each age group. I have also coached varsity men’s volleyball at Red Mountain where we finished third at a tournament in California and second in the Estrella foothills tournament.. This will also be my first time coaching the U19 boys AZHP team. I also played collegiate volleyball and the community college level as well as club volleyball at ASU.

Kennedy Kaminsky is an Arizona native. Attended and played at Perry HS, graduated in 2018. Then accepted a scholarship to Eastern Washington for a semester to play volleyball. Entering the transfer portal freshman year, ending at University of the Pacific. Played 3 seasons of indoor, 1 of beach volleyball. Graduated in December of 2021 with a BS in Communication and a minor in Business Management. Kaminsky has been coaching club for the past 6 years with different ages groups including 18s, 17s, 15s, 14s, and 12s. Outside of club she is the junior high coach for Santan jr high, freshman coach at ACP, varsity beach coach at ACP and assistant coach at Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

Been in the volleyball gym for 20 years ever since my sisters started playing in 2004. I finally started playing myself at Aspire 2012 starting as an Outside and quickly turning to setting ever since. My career had stops at Corona Del Sol for highschool, ParkU Gilbert, and several travel tournaments. I started my coaching career while still in highschool coaching my own school teammates in 2019 through Aspire Summer League and I never looked back.

Mikala Morris is a Tempe, AZ native who played middle and right side hitter for Seton Catholic Preparatory High School. As a four-year varsity starter, she won three 4A Arizona state championships. Mikala went on to play five seasons at Colorado State University - Pueblo, where she finished as a captain, two-time scholar athlete of the year and an Academic All-American. Since college, Mikala continues to play competitive beach volleyball all throughout the Valley. Along with coaching girls at Aspire, Mikala also serves as the JV Head Coach for Seton Catholic.

Nick is a former outside hitter for the Ohio State men’s volleyball team from 2009-2013. During his time with the Buckeyes, he helped the team win three MIVA conference titles (2010-2012) and a national championship in 2011. Outside of volleyball, Nick enjoys traveling with his wife and two dogs, as well as golfing in his spare time.

Shannon has been playing volleyball for 10 years now, first starting out as a middle blocker in highschool and then moving on to beach volleyball in college. He plays in competative volleyball leagues and tournaments throughout the valley and is also very passionate about getting players to their best ability! Coaching Focus Includes: General Skills Defense/Passing Attacking Blocking

Troy Kates has been playing volleyball since the age of 12 and continues to play to this day. He played four years of college volleyball at Dominican University, achieving two final four appearances and three conference championships. Currently, he plays for the VLA team Phoenix Ascension and is in his third year in the league. In his coaching career, he spent three seasons at 630 Volleyball, leading two teams to Top 3 finishes at AAU Nationals. He also coached girls at Richard's High School, winning the conference. Recently, he coached the 18 Star Lord Team and is now coaching at Higley.

Will Robinson began coaching straight out of high school fueled by his passion for volleyball. His journey started as the varsity assistant for Dobson's girls' team and at Aspire Volleyball club in 2012. Since then, he's coached numerous high school and club teams, including a memorable state championship win at Higley High in 2018. Currently, Will coaches the 16-1s Boys team and serves as the Travel Coordinator at Aspire. His extensive coaching career spans various roles and age groups, showcasing his dedication and expertise in the sport.
