What Ascend does

Court rentals, facility access, lessons, online booking, and payments run on one schedule and one set of records.

Court rentals

A reservation can cover one court or several. Ascend prices it across all of them and checks each one for conflicts before the booking saves.

Recurring bookings are created as a series. Every date is validated on its own against operating hours, the facility's booking window, and existing reservations, so a closure or an overlap is reported before the series exists.

Editing a series changes a single date, or that date and everything after it. Billing recalculates with the change.

Access and rates

Court access is granted to a club or to an individual. A club grant propagates to every member, and changing the club's rate updates all of them at once.

An individual grant is independent of any club. It carries its own rate, a specific set of courts, and a specific set of booking types.

When a member leaves a club, access derived from that club is revoked. Access they hold directly is unaffected.

Per-court rates
Each court carries a default rate. A club or an individual can hold a negotiated rate that overrides it. The applicable rate resolves when the booking is priced.
Booking type limits
A grant can allow practices but not tournaments. The restriction is applied when the booking is created, not documented elsewhere.
Booking windows
Each facility sets how far ahead reservations can be made. Owners and managers are exempt from the limit.

Lessons and online booking

Coaches publish weekly availability and an hourly rate. A lesson request holds the court and authorizes payment. The charge is captured after the lesson takes place.

Group sessions carry a price per person and a capacity. Players register and pay individually, and registration closes when the session reaches capacity.

Booking pages exist for the facility, for each club, and for each coach, using the club's or facility's branding. Every page has a shareable link and a printable QR code.

Payments and payouts

A lesson payment is divided between the coach, the facility, and Ascend when it is charged. Each party is paid into their own connected account.

Court rentals are billed monthly. Reservations accumulate as invoice items through the month and are issued as one invoice per renter at the start of the next.

Payments run on Stripe Connect. Card details are entered into Stripe's own fields and never reach Ascend. Connected accounts handle payouts and 1099 reporting.

Day-to-day operations

Pending lesson requests are followed up automatically and expire if unanswered, which releases the court. Invoices more than three days overdue are surfaced with a payment link attached.

Analytics cover revenue by court, utilization against open hours, bookings by hour and by day of week, and the renters using the most time. Any view exports to CSV.

Ascend syncs with TeamUp in both directions and can import an existing season from another system, reporting conflicts before anything is created.

Conflict checking
Availability is re-checked when a booking saves, not when the page loaded. Two simultaneous bookings for the same court cannot both succeed.
Reconciliation
Bookings, payouts, and fees are matched against Stripe. Discrepancies are graded by severity and export to Excel.
Time zones
Each facility stores its own time zone. Bookings are recorded in the facility's local time regardless of where they were made.
